Beth Fisher-Yoshida

She grew up in the Bronx and graduated from the High School of Music & Art, studying art. As an undergraduate she had a double major of Special Education and Art and earned two Master’s degrees, one in Special Education and the second in Organizational Development, which she earned after switching careers. Her Ph.D. is in Human and Organizational Systems.

For a period of 13 years, Beth lived in Japan, working as a resource teacher in an international school and then as a training manager at McKinsey & Company. She also studied art in Japan.

She has been at Columbia University since the late 1990s, during which time she has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, co-authored and edited books, contributed chapters to edited volumes.

 Beth loves to read, paint, spend time with family, and exercise; she traveled extensively before COVID and hopes to travel again.
