We Believe the World Needs More Women's Voices
In 2020, during a period of extraordinary uncertainty and division, I found myself asking a simple question:
What can I do to make a difference?
After nearly four decades in publishing, I had spent my career helping authors bring their ideas and stories into the world. I had also witnessed a reality that continues to shape the publishing industry today: women remain underrepresented in positions of influence, and too many important stories, perspectives, and ideas never reach the audiences they deserve.
I became convinced that one way to create meaningful change was to help more women publish their books.
That belief led to the founding of Bold Story Press.
Our mission is simple: to amplify women's voices by helping them publish exceptional books that inform, inspire, challenge, and empower readers.
We believe books matter. Stories matter. Women's voices matter.
And we believe the world is better when more of those voices are heard.
Our Impact
Since launching in August 2020, Bold Story Press has:
Published 40 books
Brought 10 additional titles into production
Presented more than 75 free publishing webinars
Provided hundreds of consultations to authors seeking guidance on their publishing options
Many of those consultations were with authors who were never likely to become our clients.
Why?
Because we believe that helping authors make informed publishing decisions is part of our mission.
Whether an author ultimately publishes with Bold Story Press, pursues a traditional publisher, self-publishes, or decides not to publish at all, we want them to have the information they need to make the best decision for their goals.
Our Philosophy
Bold Story Press is not for everyone.
We are selective about the projects we accept because we care deeply about quality. Publishing a book is a significant investment of time, energy, and resources, and we believe every book deserves professional editorial guidance, thoughtful design, and individualized attention.
We are neither a traditional publisher nor a self-publishing platform.
We are a hybrid publisher.
That means our authors partner with us in the publishing process. They retain ownership of their intellectual property, participate in key creative decisions, and receive the benefit of working directly with experienced publishing professionals.
Our goal is not simply to produce books.
Our goal is to publish books that authors are proud of for the rest of their lives.
